The Seller

Happy New Year everyone! I hoped everybody had a blast celebrating it. Anyway, I was so busy after New Years' day because I had to go to work the next day (oh the downside of working abroad).

Will have another post about how I celebrated my New Years eve. But before that I want to share with you my experience selling my stuffs at the Dubai Flea Market event that was held last Saturday in Al Safa Park.

Lilia, Teresa J, Ef  and I decided to shift roles from being the buyer on becoming the seller. Since it's a brand new year I decided to let go some of my clothes that I am not using anymore.

We paid 250.00 aed for our table and off we sell. I am so happy because this was a brand new experience and I like doing new things.

(pic from Ef's phone)

We were supposed to be 4 people but my friend Lilia had to begged off because she was sick. See above picture, that's how people are crazy when it comes to flea market. Ef and I were there at around 6.30 AM. We had 2 hours to set up our table and get ready for the 8.00 am opening time. I can't explain my feelings that time, I was so excited and freaking out talk about adrenaline rush. I am so ready to sell!

The dresses! We had priced from 20.00 AED to 15.00 AED,depends on how used they were but the good thing was they were not so used some of them were good as new.

Party dresses for 15.00 AED.

Some of my dresses that i sold for 5 AED and 10 AED.

All is set for the long day ahead. Just waiting for the buyers to come in and check our stuff. I was also feeling nervous because what if they will not buy our stuffs etc. But of course I leaned on the positive side and said a small prayer.

There were a lot of people buying stuffs. Dubai Flea Market is famous to almost all. You can find almost everything you need here from electronics, clothes, paintings, shoes, bags and a whole lotta more.

Lovin' the vibe here. I am so proud of myself because I never bought anything that day  which means I get to save my money.

Busy buyers out there.

MAC computers were selling like hot cakes that morning.

Look here! Some Men's shirt that you can buy from 5 AED to 10 AED.

The coats were just in time for the winter season here in Dubai.

Dubai Flea Market is a shopping heaven for people like us who loves shopping.

Winter Boots! They were selling like hotcakes! A lot of people were swarming in this area. The boots were priced between 15 AED - 30 AED.

Sea of Shoes! Literally speaking. A lot of shoes were being and you can find some cool designer shoes in this pile.

Now the lessons I've learned from this experience:

1. You need to be early. As in! People has started lining up to get their number from 5 am and started preparing their table at around 6. Imagine the line when we arrive to get our number, it was so long.

2. Find a good spot. Make sure your positioned in an area where you know most people will passed by.

3. Be very prepared. Act like you  are a Girls Scout. It was so funny that after all the preparation we've made, I forgot to print our reservation confirmation. I salute Ef for bringing everything we might need that day from scissors, to packing tapes to everything!

4. Be friendly with your co sellers. I had sold a Zara vest to one of our neighbors. Wowsa right.

5. Friendlier to the buyers. I know! Sometimes it's so hard to put a happy and friendly face especially if your tired and all but promise it pays off.

6. Be honest! It's not all about the money. If your buyer would ask you if this dress would fit her and you know that it wont tell her directly.

7. You should priced your items reasonably.

8. and lastly, just enjoy.
