Food is Love: IHop

I've been hearing about IHop and how delicious their pancake is, so one Friday morning my friend and I decided to give it a try. IHop is located at the famous hang-out of expats which is at The Walk - Jumeirah Beach Road. UAE's weekend starts on a Friday and with that Metro and other establishments opens after their Dhuhr prayer. So no Metro ride for us then taxi it is. Fare from Al Karama to The Walk is at 52.50 AED (around 580.00 Pesos).

Arrived at around 9.30 AM and the restaurant was in full swing. Packed with people who wants to eat their breakfast and just hang-out. Al fresco dining would be perfect on that day as the weather's a bit cold but we're on number 7 if we want to dine out side so we decided to eat inside (because I was so hungry).

The inside of the restaurant was kind'a small or maybe i find it small because there were a lot of people dining at that time. We were seated at a very far corner which suits as, as I don't want to be disturbed by a lot of passerby's looking at what I am eating.

I had to call the crew to get our order. I know that they know that we were there but still they let us wait for quite sometime.

We ordered the following:

Never empty coffee pot on decaf. It is advisable to order an unlimited if you're into coffee. By they way their coffee taste good.

My drink: Splashberry - a mixture of red strawberries, lemon - lime and orange juice. I did not like it on my first sip.

I had their breakfast sampler which consist of 2 hash browns, 2 eggs, 2 strips of beef bacon, 2 turkey sausage and of course 2 creamy pancakes. I can cook this menu at home because it was quite easy. Nothing special aside from the pancake.

My friend had Big Steak omelette and when they say BIG it is BIG. This is good for 2 people. It has streak strips, green bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, cheese and a  side salsa and another 2 pieces of pancakes. This was okay.

The star of IHop. My creamy pancake. I get to choose my own flavored syrup too. I still choose to put the original ones as I don't wanna mess up my appetite.

IHop opened their first branch last 2012 at Mall of the Emirates. Now they have 2 and will soon open another branch in Dubai Mall. Can this get any better?? It would be nearer to my house and my office too. I hope they soon offer a home delivery so that i can enjoy my pancake in the comfort of my own bed space (hahaha).

Total experience I can say, It was okay not that special but it's always worth the try. I love their pancakes though.

The bill:

Never empty coffee pot; 14.00 AED
Splashberry: 14.00 AED
Big Steak Omelette: 52.00 AED
Breakfast Sampler: 42.00 AED

Total: 122.00 AED but if I'll add the taxi fare back and forth it would be 227.00 AED (quite expensive for a breakfast).

IHOP Branches:

Mall of the Emirates
Level 1 Food Court Area same side as ShakeShack

Jumeirah Beach Residence
The Walk
Ground Level, Next to Movenpick Hotel

Dubai Mall
Soon to Open

  6. Read about this on Anne's blog. Looks like you went there on a full day. The omelettes and hash browns are soooo tempting. Love the unlimited coffee but if I'm the only one who will finish up that whole jug, I'd probably have quivering hands lol!
