The 90's Music

I know some of you will can relate to this post. Let's face it 90's music is better compared to what we have now. I maybe biased since I really get to enjoy the 90's but really it's true.

I was in college when the boyband phenomenon hit Manila. Imagine my craziness over the Backstreet Boys. I bought tons of magazines and posters of these 5 guys from Orlando, Florida. I love AJ and Nick to death. Ohhhh...i feel like 17 again to be young and free.

Yes, I admit you can hear me singing Quit Playing Games with my Heart at the top of my lungs while taking a bath. Video taping their videos from MTV Asia, watching all the shows that features them, collecting their CD's and mind you I even had penpals from Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Spain etc etc because of these boys.

Why i love them? Because they are great singers. Please do not compare them to One Direction and etc...because these guys can sing, do music, play instruments and can dance really well. Imagine these amazing choreography on their videos:

I even saw their concert here in Dubai but without Kevin Richardson. I guess i am one of their biggest fan, it's just so sad that my collection were all gone into ashes when our house in Manila got burned last 2007.

Britney Spears...It's Britney Bitch. She was so good before, such an amazing performer. I am just sad with what is happening to her right now. But hell-o never  compare the Teen Queen of Pop to Selena Gomez or Demi Lovato because Britney is Britney.

Saw her live last 2011 Formula 1 in Abu Dhabi. She was the bomb. I enjoyed singing my heart's out with all her hit songs. Let me share a secret with you, i wanted to be like Britney before hahaha. I even bought a lot of different minus one (sorry Mediacomm is so like the future before) with Britney's song and every day i practice singing and perfecting all her songs.

The Adult Alternative bands, to name a few Matchbox 20, Oasis, 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse, Third Eye Blind, Live, Creed and Vertical Horizon.

Third Eye Blind's : Semi Charmed Life
Vertical Horizon - Everything You Want

Biggest Song:

Three Doors Down - Here Without You / Let Me Go
Matchbox 20 - Push / 3 AM

Oasis - for me they were the best band at that time. Biggest and brightest. Who could ever forget Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall. Been singing these songs until now.

Biggest Song: ALL

And some of the best R&B artists made it big at that time.

Biggest song:

TLC - No Scrub / Waterfalls
SWV - Weak

It was just so sad that Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes died tragically. TLC's music is incomparable. They were so good with their craft.

Biggest song:

Aaliyah - At your best
Brandy - Have You Ever
Monica - Angel of Mine
Brandy & Monica - The Boy Is Mine

Where is Brandy and Monica now? I love their song The Boy Is Mine. One of the best there is. How I wish we can still have these kind of music now.

Aaliyah was my favorite back then. I got a shocked of my life when I learned about her death. She was a great singer and a dancer.

...To be continued...

  5. Backstreet Boys and Britney were very popular indeed in the 90s.. I remember having a DVD of Britney's concert she was really fantastic. Too bad she lost her shine. But I hope she'll do great again. :)

  6. Ohhhh BSB! I heart them so much! Specially Nick Carter! OMG no amount of chismis will remove my sight from him. You remember the chismis before? That Nick's a lesbo? Because he's the only BSB member who won't take his shirt off. I was like, fuck you haters! I still love him. Or her. hahaha

Sayang si Britney. Hindi lang siguro sya namili ng mga taong kakaibiganin at sasamahan.

  19. Hands down, 80s and 90s music are way, way better than of today. My sisters and I always talk about how lame and senseless most of the today's songs are. And yes, even Britney lost her sense over time. I mean, no offense meant, but songs nowadays lack soul and deep meaning.
